Everyday. A new opportunity…

In a new year with new beginnings…

jacques as he is known in MT

This is my dog Jack.  He’s a rescue.  Hard to believe he might have been euthanized for being aggressive.  He has saved the day for me, but you can tell he has some issues because of the ‘unknown’ of the years before he was found.  For example he has a little freak out moment if you touch him while he’s sound asleep.  Maybe they saw that as ‘aggressive’.  At the end of the day though the real question is  ‘who rescued who?’

I got him from Project POOCH.  They rescue, train, and rehabilitate dogs so they can be adopted.  Youth offenders accomplish this.  Why do we believe we can retrain and transform dogs into contributing members of society, yet don’t believe the same about the youth who work with them?  There are many people who do believe it, but the numbers that do not perplexes me. Everyday.

Dave supports Project POOCH and he makes Killer Bread.  You should buy some. It is awesome.  Dave is an ex-con who has made it and now gives back.  Thirty percent of the employees in his company are ex-cons.  He knows what it takes to transform.

They give me hope.
